Dr. Dallal’s Personal Philosophy on Bariatric Care
For prospective and current patients, Dr. Dallal’s goal is to make everyone feel supported at every point of their weight loss journey. He is a thorough listener and will answer any questions you have connected to bariatric surgery.
“Our vision is to provide the absolute safest, most compassionate, empathetic care to a group of patients who have generally been marginalized and ignored,” says Dr. Dallal.
“Most people—some doctors included—think obesity is a disease of the weak-willed or uneducated; I find that offensive. Obesity is a biological and environmental disease with complex origins. I have great sympathy for those who suffer from it and feel a strong connection with my patients that has only grown over the years. I continue to learn about them.”
Dr. Dallal and his team have performed over 5,000 weight loss surgeries. The form of surgery he performs at Einstein Health Network is called minimally invasive or laparoscopic surgery. Instead of making one long incision, surgeons make five small ones, which allows them to use small, thin instruments. Smaller incisions mean a lower chance of infection.
Outside the office and surgery suite, Dr. Dallal is an active adventurer with three children. He has mountain biked in the Himalayas, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and rafted the San Juan River in Utah. He has completed an Ironman competition and the Philadelphia Marathon.
